What is Jet Set?

In the early 80's the sport of Flyball became so popular that the North American Flyball Association (NAFA) was formed and they are the authority for Flyball in the USA and Canada. In March 1999 Jet Set Flyball Club was registered with NAFA and began it's racing career.

We have team members who either have 1 or 2 dogs who compete on the team. The dogs on our team range from a Yorkshire Terrier, Border Collies, Cocker Spaniels, All American Mixes, Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retrievers (Yellow & Black), Shetland Sheepdog, Golden Retriever, Havanese, Belgian Tervuren, Bichon Frise and a Coton de Tulear.

We have traveled to New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Vermont, North & South Carolina, and Philadelphia to compete for Ribbons and Titles.

We practice every other Friday night at a facility in Bainbridge. Some of our members travel as far as 1-˝ hours just to practice for a couple hours. We call this "Bitten by the FLYBALL bug", but it makes us a better team all around. JET SET has won the Best Sportsmanship award many times over at our competitions. You can win this award by having the best attitude, even when your dog is not running well.....and we certainly know our dogs can have bad days...:-)

Our team has a lot of fun and we love to do demonstrations for organizations and special events. It is fun to watch and the dogs love it when we have a crowd to cheer them on! We have performed for the Harrisburg Heat (our local Soccer Team), the Harrisburg Senators and we have been the Specialty Event at the PA Farm Show. We have also performed with the Shriner Clowns and at the PA National Horse Show.

We finally won our first first place ribbon at the Leesburg, VA. tournament 2001. The entire team has put in so much hard work to achieve this goal, we are all very proud.

 Our Jet Set philosophy states:

We are a competitive flyball team committed to running our dogs at sanctioned tournaments, local demonstrations and training them as required for the ultimate aim of enjoyment of the sport by both dogs and members of the team.  Our goals including the following:

·        All dogs and team members’ safety comes first

·        All dogs and team members will have fun

·        All team members shall show good sportsmanship throughout the tournament toward each other, other teams as well as tournament judges

·        All dogs have the opportunity to run in races at tournaments and take part in any other activities involving the team

·        Our concern for winning tournaments, or for establishing new team/regional racing records, is secondary after the first four goals have been achieved

·        Competitive winning will be gained via training existing team dogs and/or young dogs owned by established team members rather than by importing new “fast” dogs or replacing existing team members.

·        NAFA points, certificates, and pins, do not represent goals in and for themselves, but are incidental rewards of pursuing the team’s primary goals.
